I painted this colourful window mural for Nationwide's Shrewsbury branch window for Shrewsbury Pride Festival's weekend celebrations. The window was to be used as a selfie backdrop for attendees of the festival.
Above was my initial sketch idea, I used swans as a way to link the mural to Shrewsbury (the river Severn that loops the town is home to some beautiful swans) and their necks arch into a heart featuring the Pride flag, front and centre. I wanted the mural to have a fun, playful feel, but mainly to celebrate Shrewsbury's wonderful LGBTQ+ community. The hearts surrounding the swans were to be Nationwide's own heart vinyls, and on the day of painting I decided to add some painted spots and confetti around them, so it flowed a bit better with the design.
