After designing the artwork for the 2023 Shrewsbury Flower Show, I was asked by Yarrinton to create an updated version for 2024. This version would be keeping the format of the first design, but changing the colour palette a bit and adding a few new acts/stalls/characters to the scene.
I decided the most immediate change I could make, was to set the scene at night and deepen all the colours slightly. You can see below the rough idea of the nighttime scene and the new features I was hoping to add to the illustration to make it seem new and fresh.
The client was happy with all these changes, apart from the man in the boat with his dog, so I proceeded with the design and slightly adjusted the river section. Here are a selection of close-ups of the final artwork.
