I was asked by Hive Shrewsbury to do some illustrations for their Christmas campaign. Celebrating three case studies from participants on their projects that year, exploring how they've benefited from being part of them, despite being online via Zoom. These were to go out on social media, and to feature in their window display.
I was first asked to illustrate a Facebook banner around the theme of #HiveTogether. To include a bit of a Christmas vibe, but mainly convey coming together online with creativity.

My initial sketch idea. I wanted to use the boxes of a video call to frame different projects happening at the same time, but also have the characters break out of the boxes to interact with each other.

The final illustration, featuring the Hive's colour scheme as the main box colours.

My next three illustrations were to capture showcase participants Jack, Alley and the band Just Y as posters and for social media. I was provided with reference photos to work from and some information of their hobbies to be used as a background pattern.
These were my initial drawings of the participants, the band poster was a little trickier to work on as the reference photos didn't show all the band member with equal detail and needed a few different changes.
Here is how the three posters looked once finalised. The inclusion of large lettering and the background details turned into a repeat pattern really made the portraits pop!
