Toads migrate during the night to historic water sites every Spring to reproduce, but because of modern roads (which cut across their ancient migration paths) many toads are killed each year. Kind volunteers will look out for toads and transport them to the other side of the road (using buckets) to keep them safe from cars and help them on their journey.
